A special collaboration took place during spring 2018 when i was in charge of an Extra Special Project: To photograph the  precious  30 year old jewelry collection of Eleni Marneri Gallerie in Acropolis, and create  a special iconography-visual art, whose destiny would be its transformation- denutation  into highest quality silk scarves. The outcome  during the months: end of March and April ,was the creation of 17 artworks , a selection of them become silk scarves and their presentation to public on May 4th in Gallerie of Eleni Marneri. Below you can find a note i wrote for describing this unique assignment:

‘‘Behind the shop window, they stood unmistakably shiny, with that kind of gloss that you could only see through the explosive temperament of a supernova star, except that the brightness of these jewels did not fade out, but it increased immensely when they came in contact with the human body. “

Precious stones tied in a very elaborate way, rocks resembling uncharted galaxies, pearls that echo a timeless sea shape the personal collection of Eleni Marneris, which I photographed and “rewrote” in the form of illustrations, with the silk scarf canvas as a final recipient.

The “dance” that was set up by all these special heroes during the photoshooting, but especially after, during their synthesis and comprehension, gave the creative process of this venture its rythm. A small universe was on hand to make its appearance, where every corner and every protagonist had an agony that shone in its own distinctive way!

For this reason, I highlighted aspects of the character of these jewels that, no one could make use of them, if he or she had not observed them carefully and carelessly at the same time, to give them the necessary “freedom” to become what they were supposed to be. As a result of such a visual study, these protagonists acquired both hybrid and anthropocentric features. They blended into a decoration that referred to the attempt to deliver a parallel universe translated into double face images (images that can be seen – operate in two ways, either in terms of meaning or composition).

These images sometimes connect two natural landscapes, having as a link the world formed by the precious heroes. At other times, they suggest a strong visual inflation that “flirts” with cosmic inflation, removing the gravitational waves and putting in their place those associated with spring and summer, through blooming flowers and marine creatures. At the same time, kaleidoscopic mood is in abundance, releasing a special marriage between the two seasons mentioned above, as well as the roles given to each of the distinct heroes of the collection of Eleni Marneris.
