Silk Charm 2017

Silk Charm 2017 comes to 70×70 cm in a special twill quality in the limited edition 0f 77 pieces

The Totem für Elita silk charm  for 2017 is inspired by the Egyptian myth of Nut who is the Sky Goddess and Geb the Earth God. Those two Gods were truly in love, ”locked” in an unending embrace, which is being represented by the posture in this particular plan . Each evening  they meet inevitably when the stars are increasing, their love grows more. The sky is Nut’s body and Geb is the Earth lying beneath her. Next to all these, there is a girl and her special journey to the center of earth(and that was my first mind effulgence, or else connection point of my Egyptian Alice with the Egyptian myth, as the Earth is represented by Geb and my Alice ,confronting her personal ”borderline” between what is real and what is not real walking on the sky figuratively speaking, while she is finding herself literally in the depths of earth and her existence.)

I added a little bit of ”wonderland” in the Egyptian myth under an unconscious  guidance  to connect  a special girl’s journey to the center of earth, which however brought her into the ”light” of the most unlikely encounters. Then a couple of wonderland’s protagonists were connected too, to fill the scarf’s atmosphere with their unique essence. The rabbit is running but this time to catch the arrival of 2017. The flamingo, this beautiful creature that in wonderland was used as a tool  , now is accepting Geb’s caress. The presence of sanctuary  scarab , symbol of luck and regeneration, is there to embrace this fairy-Egyptian mix and to imply the special affinity with the actual ”beetle” car with the number  of the year that is coming. Egyptian pictographs could not be  absent from the composition which in fact wish ”happy new year” ”come to a party” and a ”kiss”!:-)

May the new year be a ”party” with special guests , that each one could contribute to make better the ground we stand, the sky we look at , and the inner self!
