On the occasion of the call of the art exhibition ”first flag” curated by Iris Kritikou at the Maritime Museum of Athens on 30/12/21, about the 200 years by the Greek Revolution, i made a digital collage in order to re-invent the first flag of Greek people. Main note for the artists was to reconstruct ,by our own interpretation and on various mediums, the Greek flag, symbol of faith and revolution during the years of Turkish slavery. In an attempt of a minimal approach, a faceless man (because we can all identify with him) dressed in a blue and white striped shirt and a woman in white, standing on his shoulder almost in the shape of a cross, ready to face a sea of battles, difficulties, and adversities, stands as a symbol of the faith for the Greeks who resist no matter what…
The exhibition lasted untill 31/3/22 in the Maritime Museum Of Athens.
